Cruising with Grandma: Multigenerational Tips We Learned the Fun Way

We weren’t sure if she’d say yes.
It had been years since Grandma last cruised—back when she could zip up and down the ship without a second thought. But these days, she used a cane, moved slower, and needed a little more help getting around.

Still, when we told her we were planning a Royal Caribbean cruise—and that we wanted her there, front and center—she lit up.
“I’ve cruised before,” she said with a grin. “But never with a whole cheering section.”

And with that, our group of 18 was set: toddlers, teens, tired parents, and one determined grandma ready to hit the seas again.
